BYOD Devices

Using a device classified as a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) with your service simplifies setup of 3rd party VOIP hardware that you provide by allowing us to load a configuration simply by entering a link into the adapter. All devices on the BYOD list have been tested and verified as compatible with our service using the settings we provide, and a device used as a BYOD fulfills the provisioning device requirement that unlocks use of the Softphone, SIP Credentials, and Click2Call*

Please note that BYOD's with our configuration will receive a proprietary password and their admin sections cannot be accessed while configured with our service. Basic network settings, such as setting the IP address statically or dynamically, will still be accessible. You can regain access to the admin portion of a configured BYOD by factory resetting it.

SIP Credentials

SIP credentials are settings we can provide for use on any device that accepts them. However, due to the broad number of devices that use SIP credentials, we are unfortunately not able to provide support on devices that are using SIP credentials although you can set up any device to your desired specifications and use your account and phone number for phone service.

If you would like to use customized settings on a device on our BYOD list, but do not wish to have a leased device sent to you, you can sign up with the device, configure it per the instructions, place a phone call, then factory reset it and use the SIP credential settings instead (see below).

LogoBlackIcon.JPG Most providers will refer to BYOD like Phone Power does to SIP Credentials. When they say BYOD, they mean they will provide you SIP credentials for you to configure your device yourself.

LogoBlackIcon.JPG With Phone Power BYOD your SIP credentials are not provided to you, as we will provide you instructions that will direct your device to automatically request a configuration via our Provisioning process, which guarantees that your supported BYOD device will receive a configuration that ensures it will be able to make the most of our service and leverage our features fully.
