What is a Virtual Phone Number?

What is it:

  • A virtual phone number is an in-bound only telephone number that forwards calls to your main telephone number. The cost is $5 per month for unlimited inbound calls. The virtual phone number does not ring differently nor does it have its own voice mail box. When you make outbound calls, your main number is still displayed on the caller ID.

Who would want it:

  • For residential customers, an example would be if you have a local Los Angeles number, but you have family in Miami. You can add a local Miami number to your main number, so friends have a local number to call.. This "virtual number" would just forward calls to your local LA number.
  • For business customers, some businesses would like to show a local presence in several areas. A business can have local virtual numbers for up to four different locations. An example would be a law firm that would like to advertise a local number in New York, Dallas, and San Diego.
