How To Restore Service After A Factory Reset Of The RT31P2

If you have performed a factory reset on a Phone Power RT31P2 follow the below procedures to restore your telephone service.



  • Note: Please note that all of the below settings assume that your devices IP address is 192.168 .15.1, as it would be after a factory reset. If you have changed this you must update the URL's below accordingly.

• Connect a PC to one of the 3 LAN ports on the back of the router.

• Ensure that you have internet connectivity from behind the router. You can do this by trying to go to
http://www.phonepower.com

•If you are unable to reach any websites, please contact your ISP for instructions on configuring your router for internet access before proceeding with these instructions.

• On that PC open a web browser and paste the following URL into the address bar http://192.168.15.1/FacDefaults.htm

•You will be prompted for a username and password, use the following:

• Username: admin

• Password: admin

You will be prompted as to whether or not you want to reset the factory defaults on the unit.

• Select the option labeled Yes, and click Save Settings at the bottom of the page.

• After you click Save Settings, you will get another dialog box asking you to confirm resetting the factory defaults.

• Click Ok, and the screen will change to say Settings are successful.

• Wait approximately twenty seconds, and you will be returned to the Factory Defaults page.

•Now, copy and paste the following link into your address bar:
http://192.168.15.1/resync?http://208.64.8.165/RT31P2recovery.xml

Be sure that no extra characters were inserted into the URL



When prompted for a username and password enter

• username: admin

• Password: rt31p2413v313

• Wait 30 seconds, then power cycle your unit. The device will now retrieve your telephone settings, this may take up to 2 minutes depending on your network. The above procedure will not alter the username or password for controlling your router, which after a factory reset should be:

• username: admin

• password: admin
