Can I choose a number that spells something specific?

There is no way to enter a vanity number to check for availability with our service.

Can I get a new number?

Customers can choose from a block of numbers we have available on the first step of the order form.

Can I transfer my current phone number?

You can transfer your current phone number to Phone Power as long as the phone number is an active phone number and is in your name. This process takes about 5 to 7 business days to complete the transfer.

Note: Do not cancel your service with your previous phone service provider until the service with Phone Power is up and running completely.

Also,if you have your high speed internet on the same telephone line, then you will need to make arrangements to maintain the internet as a different phone number.

Can I use my own phone adapter?

Yes, we now offer BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). Please Check Here and select bring your own device at the left for the list of supported devices.

Can the hardware be shipped COD (Cash on Delivery)?

Phone Power does not accept Cash on Delivery for the hardware. Phone Power accepts only credit cards or debit cards with the Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover logo for all payments.

How can I request a Number Transfer Date Change?

Phone Power can only make changes to the transfer date as long as we are notified within 3 business days or earlier of the initial transfer date. There is a $100 fee to change your transfer date if it's within 72 hours of your transfer.

How does the number porting process work?

Once you have submitted the order to transfer your telephone number to Phone Power, we will automatically submit a request to your current telephone provider asking them to release the telephone number to us. Once the previous provider has notified us of the transfer date, we set that same date as the activation date with Phone Power and notify you by email. Normally, the transfer process takes about 5 to 7 business days.

Note: The number you wish to port must be active, and in your name in order to transfer the number to Phone Power.

Is there an additional cost for me to transfer (port) over my number?

There are no additional costs when porting over a number at the start of service.

Note: If you start service with a new number and later wish to transfer your existing number over to us, a $15 Number Change fee will be applied to the order.

Start up fees include:

• First month of service or prepaid amount.

What happens if my current phone line has my high speed internet on it?

Most Internet Service Providers (ISP) will let you transfer your phone number and keep your DSL internet service with them. This is referred to as a Dry Loop DSL line. You will need to contact your current ISP to find out if this is an available option.

If Dry Loop DSL service is not available in your area, you can also switch your high speed internet service to cable broadband service.

What if I want a new number outside of my local calling area?

You can choose to have a phone number that is different from your local area code during the sign up process.

• Just choose the “I'd like to obtain a New Phone Number” option during the first step of the sign up process and a drop down menu will appear.

• Select the “Let me Choose a State, City and Zip Code for my Number” option.

• Select the State, City and Zip Code for the new number you wish to have.

What is Dry Loop / Stand Alone DSL line?

A Dry Loop DSL line is a telephone line provided by your current Internet Service Provider (ISP) or land line telephone company. This is a basic telephone line used only for DSL internet service. You can not place or receive phone calls on a Dry Loop DSL line.

Some companies provide this service at no extra cost to the customer. You will have to contact your ISP to set up Dry Loop DSL service.

Will I be without phone service while I transfer(port) my number?

You will still have phone service with your previous telephone provider up until midnight of your activation date with Phone Power. The phone number transfer usually takes 5 to 7 business days to complete.

You will know the transfer is complete when the Phone Power phone rings and the previous provider's phone no longer rings when called.

• Note: Please do not cancel your prior service before the transfer is complete as this can cause problems with the completion of the phone number transfer.

Would that mean paying two phone companies?

No, once you have the Phone Power phone service up and running you may cancel your service with your previous phone service provider.

• If you ported your number to Phone Power, you will need to wait until you can receive inbound calls on your Phone Power service and that your activation date has passed before canceling the old provider.
