In order for a Linksys adapter on our BYOD list to be useable with Phone Power's service, it must be "unlocked," which is to say it cannot be configured to another provider at a hardware level. There are two steps to ensuring the device is unlocked. The first is to confirm the device can be factory reset.

LOGO Only1.JPG Dial **** on a phone attached to the Linksys adapter. The device will respond with the "Linksys Device configuration menu" prompt.

  • If it asks for a password, and the password is not known, the device is locked and can't be used as a BYOD device.
  • If it does not, press 1 to confirm and continue to the next step.

LOGO Only1.JPG Log into the web interface for the device. Please note this is the same step necessary when doing the setup of the device with our service.

  • If the device has an "internet" and "ethernet" port, as the SPA 2102 does, you can access the interface by plugging a computer into the ethernet port and accessing the device's base IP, typically http://192.168.0.1
  • If the device only has a single port for an ethernet cable, as the PAP2t does, you can access the interface via the address it reports with **** 110#.

  • If "Customization" is set to "Open", your device is ready to use with our service.
  • If "Customization" is set to anything other than "Open", the device is locked to a previous provider and cannot be used as a BYOD device
