How to Configure an Airport Extreme to function with the Grandstream

To configure your device to function with the Grandstream connected to it, please follow these instructions.

For the first step in this process, you will need to find out the current IP address being assigned to your Grandstream by your router. Please refer to How to receive the current WAN IP Address on a Grandstream.


If you have MAC OS x 10.4:


  • Click on the Macintosh HD.
  • Click on Application.


Locate the Apple Airport Utility.

  • Click on Advanced.


Locate the Default Host.

  • Select Yes.
  • Type in the IP address you received from the Grandstream in the first step.


Save the settings.


Next, connect your computer directly to the LAN port on the Grandstream, open up a web browser and navigate to http://192.168.2.1.

  • The password is 123.

  • Click on Basic Settings.

  • Select the radio button for Statically Configured As.

Input the following info in the appropriate fields:

  • Ip address: 192.168.1.x (this is the IP address you received in the first step of this process).
  • Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0.
  • Default Router: 192.168.1.1.
  • DNS Server 1: 208.67.222.222.
  • DNS Server 2: 208.67.220.220.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Update. On the following page, click on Reboot.


After 3-5 minutes the Grandstream should be registered and able to make and receive calls.
