Configuring the Grandstream for PPPoE Type DSL Internet

From PhonePower Knowledge Base
Jump to: navigation, search

In order to get service working, you will need to put your DSL modem in bridged mode and place the PPPoE credentials on the Grandstream. Please contact your ISP and ask them to provide you with your PPPoE credentials. Write the PPPoE credentials down for future reference.

After getting the credentials from your ISP, tell them that you need to bridge your modem. Have your ISP walk you through the process of bridging your modem so that a router can be connected to the modem.

After you have bridged the modem:

  • Turn off the DSL modem and the Grandstream.
  • Connect the DSL modem to the WAN port of the Grandstream.
  • Connect a computer to the LAN port of the Grandstream.
  • Once connected in this manner, turn ON the DSL modem.
  • Once the DSL modem is synced and lights are steady, turn ON the Grandstream.
