Adding a rule to give certain calls a distinctive ring to Incoming Call Manager

To add a number, contact, or contact group to a ruleset to be rejected, please follow these steps.

Begin by logging into your MyAccount portal and going to the Call Forwarding section.


• Click on the "Rules" tab.

• On the Rules tab, click "Add RuleSet".

• Name the RuleSet appropriately

• Click "Add RuleSet"

The rule you've added should appear in the list on the left side.

• Click on the rule to highlight it.

• Click "Add Rule"

  • To affect a single Contact or Group:

• Select the "Contact or Group" option and begin typing the first name of the contact or Group; the name should appear as you type. Select it from the list.

  • To affect a single number:

• Select the "this number..." and enter the number manually.

  • To affect anyone on your contact list, select the third option.
  • To affect anonymous inbound callers, select the fourth option.


• Click "Forward" once you've selected the desired option.



• In the next box, select "ring my phone using"

• In the dropdown select from standard ringing or one of 3 distinctive ringtones.

• Click "Finish."

  • Distinctive Ring 1 will ring the phone with two short rings.
  • Distinctive Ring 2 will ring the phone with 2 short rings and 1 long ring.
  • Distinctive Ring 3 will ring the phone with 1 short ring, 1 long ring, and 1 short ring.


• The new rule will appear appear in the list of rules for the selected set

  • The specified calls will ring in the manner indicated. Please note that at present this applies to the named ruleset only; new rulesets will need to have them added. For this reason we encourage maintaining Contact groups if you expect to generate multiple rulesets and adding a distinctive ring to that group.


• Click on the “Save” button when finished. A small "Config File Updated" message will appear in green, indicating the changes have been saved.
