To configure your device to function with the Grandstream connected to it, please follow these instructions.

For the first step in this process, we will need to find out the current IP address being assigned to your Grandstream by your router. Please refer to How to receive the current WAN IP Address on a Grandstream for more information.

Next, connect your computer directly to your router, open up a web browser and log into the router.

If you do not know how to log into your router, please refer to the user's manual for your router for information on how to log in.

Once you are logged in:

  • Go to the Port Forwarding or Virtual Server section of the router.

This is usually in the Firewall Settings or an Advanced section of the router.

Once you are on the Port Forwarding page:

  • Create a new rule and set up the ports to forward as follows:

If you are configuring individual ports, forward the following ports:

  • 5060 UDP
  • 5061 UDP
  • 5004 UDP
  • 5012 UDP
  • Destination IP address: Use the IP address that you received from the Grandstream in the first step of this process.

If you are configuring a range of ports to forward, use the following ranges:

  • Start port : 5004
  • End port : 5012
  • Start port: 5060
  • End port: 5061
  • Protocol : UDP
  • Destination IP address: Use the IP address that you received from the Grandstream in the first step of this process.

Not all routers will ask you for a destination when setting port ranges to forward, in this case the ports are forwarded as defined regardless of the destination host.

  • Save the settings once that is complete.

You will need to reboot the Grandstream device for this to take effect. Simply remove the power cord from the back of the Grandstream, wait 20 seconds, and put it back in. After 3-5 minutes the Grandstream should be registered and able to make and receive calls.

If you are unable to place a call after 15 minutes, please contact our support department for additional assistance.
