My Linksys adapter doesn't seem to work any longer. I have unplugged all connections and left overnight. I power, reconnect uplink to router as before, and connect a corded phone locally to device and still no dial tone. After a little while adapter runs very hot. Power light is on, Internet light flashes, and phone1 light is on. I have also removed corded phone from home phone line (in case it was the issue) and no dial tone on other phone (wireless base/handset). I have confirmed phone connector is plugged in correctly as well as other connections. Being an IT engineer I suspect Adapter is bad.
I would like a new adapter or what other tests would you like me to perform to confirm?
Thanks,
Gravy

After reviewing the ticket it seems we were able to get a hold of you and analyze the phone adapter. It seems the adapter was not functioning the way it should and we replaced the adapter with one of our phone adapters, a Grandstream HT502. When you get the new adapter please contact us if you need any assistance in setting up the new adapter.

How old is your Linksys? The older PAP2s that were made by Sipura were made like tanks. Then Cisco a division of Linksys bought them, can you can guess what happened. :( When they were Sipura owned they were a great company and returned emails promptly. Now unless you have the money of Microsoft they could care less about your business.
That HT-502 I have with PhonePower is on its third year and is awesome! I have pumped 100s gigs through netflix, torrents, etc. and it won't lock up. Usually PhonePower updates the firmware every few months, power goes out, cat knocks it over, etc. so like it or not it gets rebooted, lol. I think you will be very happy with the HT-502 :-)
