I can help you out. I'll list instructions step by step for what needs to be done.
Follow this and you will have your ports for this service forwarded.
-First, pick up the phone hooked to your Grand Stream HT 286 phone adapter and
dial ***,02. This will report to you an IP address. Write this down. You will need
it for a future step.
(If this step gives you "0.0.0.0" for the IP please check and possibly change the ethernet cord that connects the HT286 to your Netgear. It should give you an IP that sounds like "192.168.1.something.)
-Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP
address of your router in the address bar of your browser. By default the IP
address should be set to 192.168.1.1. Press enter.
-You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your
username and password. By default the username is admin, and the password is
password. Click the Ok button to log in to your router.
-Once this opens, on the left side you will see a lot of options listed down the
page. Under Advanced click on "Click the Port Forwarding / Port Triggering"
-Put a dot into the Port Forwarding radio button. Then click the "Add Custom
Service" button near the bottom of the page.
-For "Service Name" put PhonePower
-For "protocol" select UDP
-For "Starting Port" put 5004
-For "Ending Port" put 5061
-For "Server IP Adress" put in the IP address that you got from the first stepwhen you dialed ***,02.
- Then click on"Apply" at the bottom and then you can close your web browser.
Once this is done , reboot the Grand Stream HT286 phone adapter.
This should be all you need to do to get the service back up. Let me know if you have any further troubles with this.
