In order to get service working, you will need to put your DSL modem
in bridged mode and place the PPPoE credentials on the Grandstream. Please
contact your ISP and ask them to provide you with your PPPoE credentials. Write
the PPPoE credentials down for future reference.
After getting the credentials from your ISP,
tell them that you need to bridge your modem. Have your ISP walk you through the
process of bridging your modem so that a router can be connected to the modem.
After you have bridged the modem,
- Turn off the DSL modem and the Grandstream.
- Connect the DSL modem to the WAN port of the Grandstream.
- Connect a computer to the LAN port of the Grandstream.
- Once connected in this manner, turn on the DSL Modem.
- Once the DSL modem is synced, lights are steady, turn on the Grandstream.
- Open a browser and navigate to http://192.168.2.1
- Login with the default
password 123.
- Click on Basic Settings.
- Change the IP Address to PPPoE and populate the username and password.
- Set the PREFERRED DNS SERVER to 208.67.222.222
- Click Update,
then Reboot on the following page.
The Grandstream will reboot. After it has rebooted,
allow 10 minutes for initial provisioning to occur, and try to place a test
call once you hear a dial tone.
