How to Configure a Westell 9100 to function with the Grandstream

To Configure your device to function with the Grandstream connected to it, please follow these instructions.

For the first step in this process, we will need to find out the current IP Address being assigned to your Grandstream by your router.  Please refer to How to Receive the IP Address on a Grandstream for information.

Now, connect your computer directly to your router, and open up a web browser and navigate to http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.1.254 and login to the router.

Click on My Networks.

  - Check for the MAC address of Grandstream.

Check on the IP address for Grandstream.  Match this IP to the one you received in the second step. Note this IP address because you will need it to setup Port Forwarding.

Click on Firewall Settings.

Click on Yes to Continue.

Click on Port Forwarding in the left menu bar.

Click New Entry at the bottom of the Local Host column to add a new port forwarding rule or service.

Enter the IP address of the Grandstream you found when looking at My Networks.

Select User Defined from the Pull Down Menu.

Enter a Service Name for the port forwarding service. You can use any name, though we recommend you call it PhonePower.

Click on New Server Ports.

Select UDP from the Protocols Pull Down list.

Select Range in the Source Ports Pull Down list.

Enter 5004 in the first range field, then enter 5061 in the second range field.
Select Single for the Destination Port and enter 5060 in the port number field.

Click the OK button to complete the port forwarding rule.

Now you should see your newly created rule. Click the OK button.

Click the OK button again and this will complete the rule setup.

You should now see the new rule in your list of rules if you completed the setup correctly.

You will need to reboot the Grandstream device for this to take effect. Simply remove the power cord from the back of the Grandstream, wait 20 seconds, and put it back in. After 5-10 minutes the Grandstream should be registered and online.

If you are unable to place a call after 15 minutes, please contact our support department for additional assistance.
