How to Configure an Actiontec MI424WR to function with the Grandstream

To Configure your device to function with the Grandstream connected to it, please follow these instructions.

Make sure the Grandstream's WAN Port is plugged into one of the numbered ports on the Actiontec modem that your received from your ISP.

For the first step in this process, we will need to find out the current IP Address being assigned to your Grandstream by your router.  Please refer to How to Receive the IP Address on a Grandstream for information.

To enter the Web interface of your router go to http://192.168.1.1.

Select Firewall Settings on the list of options toward the top of the page.

You will be prompted to enter a Username and Password, by default Username is admin and Password is password, if that does not work, use password1.

Once the page loads, on the left hand side select DMZ Hosting.

Set the DMZ to On.  By default, the DMZ is set to Off.

Click in the DMZ Host IP Address check box, then enter the IP address of the Grandstream that you received in the first step.

Once you select our device there, click Apply to save the settings.

Once the screen refreshes, click on Advanced.

Click on SIP ALG.

Select Disable.

Click Apply.

You will need to reboot the Grandstream device for this to take effect. Simply remove the power cord from the back of the Grandstream, wait 20 seconds, and put it back in. After 5-10 minutes the Grandstream should be registered and online.

If you are unable to place a call after 15 minutes, please contact our support department for additional assistance.
